FAQ
Literally translating Ludo (play, game) and Sport (sport), Ludosport is both a game and a sport built around the most iconic weapon: the lightsaber. Developed by the founder masters in 2006, and quoting the official Ludosport website, "LudoSport is enjoyment within a sport environment, promoting social relations and the sense of belonging to a group. It teaches respect and knowledge of one's own body and develops imagination, elegance and reflexes. LudoSport thus became the name to identify every location where this new sport was practiced. In each school, practitioners find the same environment where every one can find their own space for improving technique without ever having to give up on enjoyment, fun and imagination."
SECURI is an acronym for Servizio, Cura, and Rispetto, and the idea that a home in LudoSport anywhere is a home in LudoSport everywhere. Servizio means "service." It's helping everyone improve their technique and knowledge. Cura means "care," but specifically, care for yourself and others. This is shown in controlled exercise of technique, and not harming our opponents or training partners. Rispetto means "Respect." This comes from self-awareness, and guides how we interact with everybody whether they're brand new to LudoSport or a veteran of Clan Alpha. We are all LudoSport: one name, one sky!
Generally, we use a variety of the LamaDiLuce Polaris model, but a more complete list of permitted sabers can be found here. For safety reasons, we cannot allow any unapproved lightsabers to be used in class, but don't worry there are still plenty of ways to make your lightsaber stand out from all the rest!
